What exactly means elasticity?

“Elasticity” is a term that describes a string's ability to stretch at the moment of impact and then immediately spring back (rebound) to its original state. This property is often discussed in relation to power transmission, as a string with a higher elasticity transfers more energy to the ball. However, strings with greater elasticity also provide a more comfortable feel and a better racquet response as the string bed picks up the incoming ball more gently.

Tear resistance or maintenance of elasticity? What does "durability" actually mean for you?

The consequence: Inealstic strings generate less power and convey less feeling and control. In addition, the risk to suffer from "tennis elbow" and joint problems increases due to the poorer shock absorption on ball impact.

The stringster app helps you to identify the right point of time to actively replace your strings – and to experiment with different types of strings, string gauges (diameters) and tension levels. This is how you can find out how you can optimally adapt your racquet to your personal needs.
